Super Stand-up Saturday in Collaboration with New Orleans School of Comedy Arts

Louisiana’s longest-running comedy marathon returns to the Lafon Arts Center for our Fall Comedy Showcase, transforming our Black Box Theatre into a high-energy comedy club for one unforgettable night.
After last year’s sold-out performance, this fast-paced showcase features an outstanding lineup of comedians from South Louisiana and beyond, delivering a variety of comedic styles and perspectives guaranteed to keep the laughs coming all evening long.

Classical Christmas: Messiah in Collaboration with LPO

The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra rings in the holiday season with stunning selections from Handel’s Messiah and beloved classical Christmas music. Experience the power and beauty of this timeless masterpiece, featuring the iconic “Hallelujah” chorus, performed by the region’s finest musicians. A cherished holiday tradition, this concert is the perfect way to celebrate the season with the splendor of orchestral and choral music.
The Nutcracker Presented in Collaboration with Ballet Images

Experience the wonder of the holiday season with The Nutcracker, a cherished holiday tradition for audiences of all ages. Set to Tchaikovsky’s beloved score, this full-length classical ballet follows Clara’s magical journey from a festive Christmas Eve celebration to the enchanting Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets. Filled with breathtaking dancing, stunning costumes, and timeless storytelling, The Nutcracker is a magical holiday experience the whole family will treasure.
Public Performance will take place Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7:00pm and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3:00pm.

Sugar Plum Party Presented in Collaboration with Ballet Images

Ideal for young children and first-time theatergoers, the Sugar Plum Party offers all the magic of The Nutcracker in a fun, family-friendly one-hour format. This abbreviated performance highlights favorite scenes, characters, and dances from the classic ballet while providing an engaging introduction to the world of dance. Designed with young audiences in mind, the Sugar Plum Party is a delightful way to create holiday memories and inspire a love of the arts.
