Join us for a free screening of Royd Anderson’s 2006 documentary The Luling Ferry Disaster in honor of the 50th anniversary of the event. This student film led to the creation of the George Prince Ferry Memorial at the East Bank Bridge Park in 2009. Anderson will be present for a discussion following the screening.

Admission is free.  Registration opens Oct. 1 and can be accessed HERE.

Lobby doors will open at 5:30pm, and theatre doors will open at 6:00pm.

Experience the wonder of the holiday season with The Nutcracker, a cherished holiday tradition for audiences of all ages. Set to Tchaikovsky’s beloved score, this full-length classical ballet follows Clara’s magical journey from a festive Christmas Eve celebration to the enchanting Land of Snow and Kingdom of Sweets. Filled with breathtaking dancing, stunning costumes, and timeless storytelling, The Nutcracker is a magical holiday experience the whole family will treasure.

Public Performance will take place Saturday, Dec. 12 at 7:00pm and Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3:00pm.

Laugh your way into spring with the Spring Comedy Showcase, the second installment of the Lafon Arts Center’s 2026–27 comedy series. Our Black Box Theatre once again transforms into a high-energy comedy club for an evening of outstanding stand-up from talented comedians representing South Louisiana and beyond.

Featuring a fast-paced lineup of performers and a variety of comedic styles and perspectives, the Spring Comedy Showcase delivers another unforgettable night of live comedy that audiences won’t want to miss.
