Goat in the Schools (GITS) is a touring show of four student-written plays presented by Goat in the Road Productions (GRP). Written by fifth and sixth grade students that participated in GRP’s Play/Write program, the plays are brought to life by professional actors and designers. Each year GRP brings GITS to over 2,000 young people in the Greater New Orleans area.

GITS is approximately 35 minutes long. It is appropriate for ages 3+.

This year’s show features:
A Day at the Beach by Alexa Urquia
Evil Cyanide Poisons Water by Harlan Houston
The Secret Invasion by Isaiah Briggs
Wanna Go to Dallas? by Ron’nae Harris

Performed by:
Eleanor Frederic-Humphrey
Alexandria Miles
KC Simms
Maggie Tonra

Directed by: Richon May
Stage Manager: Kit Sternberger
Set/Props/Costume Design: Emma Barron
Sound Design: Dylan Hunter

Workshop description:
Join Goat in the Road for a post-show playwriting activity. Participants will use image-based brainstorming to write a 10-line play, just like the playwrights whose works were produced in the show! The workshop will last approximately 30 minutes and is open to all audience members. Attendees can write a play on their own, or can do so in a group, or even with the help of an adult (who are also invited to participate!)
