Visual & Technical Arts

Creativity in Full Color.

In the studios of Lafon, creativity takes form. Here, students explore drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, digital art, and technical design — developing skills while discovering their individual artistic voices.

Visual Art in SCPPS

From Pre-K through 12th grade, all St. Charles Parish Public Schools students receive Art as part of their general education. Students who show a deeper passion for visual arts have the opportunity to challenge themselves through the Talented Art program, offered at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Visual Art at Lafon

Lafon serves as a central hub for visual arts across the parish, showcasing student work year-round. Highlights include:

  • Nine gallery boxes in the lobby displaying rotating student artwork
  • The Superintendent’s Gallery, featuring prize-winning artists from each SCPPS school
  • ArtsFest, an annual district-wide interdisciplinary art show held each March, where hundreds of student works are exhibited and community members can participate in hands-on art activities

From classroom learning to public exhibitions, visual and technical arts at Lafon give every student the chance to create, grow, and share their work with the community.
