Education Wing

Where Creativity Takes Shape.

Where Creativity Takes Shape.

The Education Wing is the heart of Lafon’s hands-on learning experience — a vibrant, light-filled environment where St. Charles Parish students explore, experiment, and develop their artistic voice. Connected to the main theater yet distinctly its own space, the Education Wing blends modern design with French Quarter–inspired architectural details, from brick archways to scenic overlooks that flood the hallway with natural light.

More than classrooms, these studios function as professional-level creative labs. Students learn the arts the way artists practice them: with real tools, real technology, and real mentorship.

A Professional Environment for Emerging Creators

Every room is equipped with industry-grade technology that mirrors what professionals use in the field, including:

  • 3D printers and digital fabrication tools
  • State-of-the-art kilns for ceramics and sculpture
  • Specialized arts classrooms designed for movement, music, theatre, and design
  • Digital media and editing suites
  • A fully equipped broadcast studio transplanted from a former local news station

This is where students move from classroom theory to hands-on creation — building skills that prepare them for both college and careers in the arts, media, and creative industries.

Programs Offered Through the Satellite Center

The Education Wing is home to advanced arts courses available to St. Charles Parish Public Schools high school students, representing one of the most comprehensive arts education pathways in the region. Students register through the Satellite Center. Classes include:

  • Dance
  • Digital Media
  • Interactive Media
  • Piano

A Space That Reflects Our Mission

In alignment with Lafon’s core purpose — transforming creative potential into life skills and professional possibility — the Education Wing provides students with the same caliber of facilities and mentorship they would encounter in world-class arts institutions. Here, creativity becomes confidence. Skills become pathways. And students discover not just what they can make, but who they can become.
