The Lafon Arts Center’s PALSS Children’s Theatre invites you and your young audience members to open up their imaginations and get lost in the world we create together with performances designed to educate, entertain, and inspire. PALSS is best appreciated by children ages 3 to 103. Each one-hour performance is filled with engaging artists from around the corner to around the globe.  You won’t see anything like this anywhere else!

The Joshua Show

Spend your morning with The Ambassador of Joy and award-winning puppeteer, Joshua Holden. The Joshua Show could cheer upeven the grumpiest grump, like Joshua’s right-hand man, Mr. Nicholas, who is planning an escape to outer space. With singing, tapdancing, and a cast of zany puppets, Joshua sets out to convince Mr. Nicholas to stay, and in doing so, he brings glee to the masses. Relax your smile muscles now because The Joshua Show will have you smiling from earto ear with contagious joy.

River Region Ballet, Inc. The Nutcracker Sugar Plum Party

This will be an abbreviated one hour performance of The Nutcracker. The performance will be followed by a “Sugar Plum Party”. The audience members will be invited to join the Sugar Plum Fairy onstage and experience “The Kingdom of the Sweets” for themselves. They can meet and talk to their favorite characters, experience what it is like to be on the stage under the glowing lights, and take pictures. Each young audience member will be given a special gift to remember their Nutcracker performance. 

 
 

Grace for President

When Grace’s teacher reveals that the United States has never had a female president,  Grace asks “Where are the girls?” , as her third-grade teacher rolls out a poster of all 44 U.S. presidents. Frustrated by the lack of female faces in the White House, Grace decides she wants to be the first female president. Grace  immediately starts off her political career as a candidate and initiates a mock school election. She seems the likely winner until the most popular boy runs against her.

The Little Mermen

The Little Mermen, a Disney cover band, was founded by singer-songwriter Alexis Babini with the goal of bringing Disney-fueled nostalgia and singalongs to a generation that grew up on Disney, and never let it go! The Little Mermen play all the Disney hits, from The Jungle Book to The Lion King, and even Frozen. Alongside Alexis, you’ll find a cast of talented musicians and Disney princesses ready to rock their hearts out – and yours!
