KEN WALDMAN: A NIGHT OF FIDDLE & POETRY
Thursday, January 30th at 7:30pm
The Lafon Performing Arts Center welcomes Ken Waldman & The Secret Visitors for a family-friendly week night show unlike anything ever seen in St. Charles Parish. Ken Waldman has been a full-time touring artist since 1995, often performing as Alaska’s Fiddling Poet. After spending the day working with St. Charles Parish students, he’ll stay through the evening where he’ll be joined by two ace New Orleans musicians, Dan Wally Baker, a guitarist, bass player, and dancer, and Natalie Mae Palms, a guitarist, banjo player, and singer. Ken Waldman’s shows combine toe-tapping Appalachian-style string-band music, original poetry, and Alaska-set storytelling. The Austin Chronicle says Ken Waldman’s shows “feel like a Ken Burns movie . . . Always recommended.” According to the Denver Post, his shows are “renegade Americana.”
